The rolling process at Calmtec Service is carried out using specialized machines and the experience of a team of technologists and operators, which allows for the precise shaping of steel sheets and profiles in a wide range of geometric forms.

Our primary scope of work is the rolling of tubes and cylindrical elements, with diameters ranging from 330 mm to 4000 mm and widths up to 3100 mm. This process enables us to obtain precise geometry for components intended for structural, industrial, and technological applications.

Each process is preceded by an analysis of technical documentation and the selection of appropriate rolling technology, which allows for maintaining the required diameters, angles and dimensional tolerances.

For components with variable geometry, we perform cone rolling. For components requiring exceptional precision or unusual geometry, we use step bending, enabling gradual forming of the sheet metal in accordance with the design intent. This technology is used for components with large radii, housing segments, covers, and special details, among others.

By combining modern machinery with the experience of our technologists and operators, we also produce special and custom components based on individual customer designs. Each order is treated individually, with emphasis on geometry control, repeatability, and preparation of the parts for further operations, such as welding or assembly.

Sheet metal rolling – Calmtec Service

Precision 4-roll rolling machines

The key to achieving the highest precision at Calmtec Service is the use of advanced 4-roll rolling machines. An additional lower pressure roller allows for precise bending of both sheet edges in a single pass, significantly reducing the “straight edge” (the unbent section at the ends of the sheet). This system allows for post-weld calibration, ensuring a perfectly cylindrical shape, which is crucial in the production of pipes and pressure vessel shells.

Four-roll rolling machines also ensure stable material guidance throughout the entire cycle, eliminating the risk of axial shifting and guaranteeing excellent edge preparation for longitudinal welding. A key aspect of rolling is precisely selecting the minimum diameter relative to the thickness and mechanical properties of the material.
